Margarete “Maggie” Chapman
Instruments: Beginning to Advanced: Piano, Flute & Voice
Maggie moved to Wasilla in 2016 from Germany. She has been teaching private music lessons in flute, voice & piano since 2010, and was an elementary and high school music teacher in 2015.
She focuses on the individual student in her lessons an will meet he student at their current level and guide them to further development. Maggie looks forward to conveying the joy of playing an instrument and making music to her students. Parameters such as rhythm, reading music, melody, music expression and tone color are an inherent part of her music lessons, as well as music theory.

Sam has a variety of music experience, including seven years of guitar lessons and eight years of private piano lessons. He teaches bass, percussion, ukelele and drumset and piano. He enjoys sharing music with beginning students, as well as more advanced students. He has studied Music Theory, History of Jazz and is fluent in Spanish. Sam teach numerous guitar techniques and styles, including jazz, blues, country, rock, classical, finger picking, alternate tunings, slide, song writing, duets, music theory, the use of effects and amps, and playing in a band or ensemble.

Haley grew up in Wasilla and has recently returned after attending college in Oregon. She brings a lifelong love of music to her students through the study of musical literature, theory and appreciation. Haley was trained with a classical focus, but also enjoys playing and teaching other styles including Jazz and Sacred.
Haley has been teaching private music lessons since 2016 and her goal is to inspire and cultivate aspiring musicians in the Mat-Su Valley. She helps her students develop artistry and technique in an environment that fosters fun, creativity, and personal discovery. Haley is looking forward to meeting new students and sharing her knowledge and talent with them!

Jessica graduated with honors from the Las Vegas Academy for the Arts High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from Brigham Young University and her Master's degree in Flute Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She lived in the Ural Region of Russia doing missionary work, and she speaks Russian. Jessica is no stranger to Alaska either! She has worked for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District as a substitute teacher in Soldotna and also at Land's End Resort in Homer. Jessica is excited to teach private lessons for flute, piano & voice; as well as our Preschool Music Program, Music FunTime, at our Anchorage location!

Vince grew up in Anchorage and graduated from Service High & UAA, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree. He is the owner and program director of Anchorage Music & Dance Center located in South Anchorage. He has written the curriculum for private lessons, group keyboard & guitar classes, as well as rock band classes. He loves to teach beginners, whether they are young students or adults. Vince owns Anchorage Music & Dance Center with his wife, Eileen, and they employ over 15 teachers and staff there. They are excited to expand their vision for teaching music & dance in a positive, supportive environment to students in Wasilla!

Cody is a multi-instrumentalist from Palmer. He has performed in Palmer High School's Honor jazz band and on the Moody Bible Institute jazz band as a drummer. He believes that learning to play an instrument should be fun and accessible to all ages and looks forward to working with beginning musicians. Cody is currently working on earning his Master's degree in Elementary Education in order to become a teacher in Alaska.
