Private Music Lessons
The owners of Wasilla Music & Dance Center have been teaching private music lessons for over 30 years in Anchorage, and now we’re excited to expand into Wasilla! Our professional staff teaches students skills that will allow them to make and enjoy music throughout their entire lives.
Students can start taking private lessons as young as 5 years old. We have an “Open Registration” policy which means students can start lessons at any time of year or month. There’s never a reason to wait to get started!
Parents will appreciate the convenience of our location at the Menard Sports Center and the ability to have one child taking music lessons, while another has hockey practice. An amazing time saver for all parents!
Private lessons are available for the following instruments:
Guitar Piano Drums Violin Viola Cello Electric Bass
If you don’t see the instrument you want, call us 907 354-3658 and we’ll try to find a teacher for you!
We believe there is more to learning to play an instrument then just showing up for a lesson once a week. Students enrolled at Wasilla Music & Dance Center receive many FREE added value items that help support young musicians such as our Music Club, LessonMate program & Recitals.
MUSIC CLUB MEMBERSHIP
All our private music & group music students receive a FREE membership in our “Center Stage Music Club”. Membership Includes:
- Monthly Performance Opportunities (Oct-April)
- Free Monthly Workshops presented by an AMDC Teacher (October-April)
- Free, Formal Recitals (Dec & May)
Our teachers use the innovative program, LessonMate to send video demonstrations and lesson information for students to review in between their regularly scheduled lesson times. If a student misses a lesson, their teacher will send them their lesson over the LessonMate system so the student doesn’t miss out that week, and never falls behind. Wasilla Music & Dance Center gives LessonMate accounts for FREE to all our enrolled students!
We think the secret to success is to have fun while you are learning, and to have the opportunity to perform. We offer multiple recitals and performance opportunities throughout the year. Our recitals are low pressure affairs where students feel comfortable sharing their talents with family and friends.
Our teachers are professional musicians with performance and teaching experience. They are university trained, some with degrees in music performance, music education, or both! Our teachers know how to relate to each student to help them master skills that create results—all while having fun making music! (See “Our Music Teachers” for details.) Our music teachers are not bogged down with administrative duties. We have an excellent office staff on hand during lesson & class times to help you with all your questions!
